WHERE  IS  KARAHALLI  LOCATED ? Geography 

Karahalli is located in western Turkey, in the region of the Aegean Sea. It is a town near  the area of the city of Uşak. East of the town there is Sivaslı, westward there is Ulubey, Civril – Denizli is located southeast and Bekilli-Denizli southeast. The entire territory of Karahalli is typical of the Anatolian uplands. Half of the land is agricultural land, the other half is covered with forests of oak trees. The area is altogether 460 square km. The altitude is 873 meters. The river that crosses the region is called Banaz Çayı and runs into the Aegean Sea near Didim.

 

  

POPULATION 

According to the official register, there are 10’300 inhabitants in Karahallı. However there are presently 5’500 inhabitants in the town. With the people who originate from Karahalli but who live outside, the total number of people is 35 to 40’000. The total number of inhabitants of the 14 different villages located around Karahalli is about 11’000. 

CLIMATE

The climate of the region is Mediterranean as well as continental. The hottest months are July-August, the coldest January-February. Spring is rainy and mild, summer is hot and dry, autumn is rainy and mild, in winter it rains, it snows and is cold. In summer the canyon region is hot but mild inside. The river is appropriate for swimming and different other sports, particularly between June and October.
